Mission: Broken Mirror
[PREVIOUSLY}
Alora sighed. It would be so much easier to just blow the ship up. She opened another comm channel. "Knight to York."
[CONTINUED]
Sam raised an eyebrow and looked at Joran when she heard Alora's voice instead of Alex'. "York here."
"Alex is going to beam over to the third ship to retrieve the device they're using to jump between worlds. Hold fire on that ship until he gets back."
"And it's too late to stop him, I take it?" Sam asked dryly.
"Afraid so, ma'am. Alex is following Admiral Hunter's orders, as he said. We'll watch his back."
"Then it looks like we will focus on the other two ships. Let me know when he's back. York out."
She wasn't happy with this turn of events. "Security, you heard her. Focus fire on the other two ships."
Then Sam turned to ops. "Reroute power to forward shields as needed."
"Yes Commodore" Vincent responded, his fingers deftly rerouting the power to do as what was requested of him.
The Pridwen began its assault, hitting the third ship with a sequence of phaser fire, awaiting for the signal that their shields were lowered enough to send in Alex's team. As soon as they got the sign, the transporter room send the three onboard.
====[On Lost Mercenary Ship]====
Alex, Pitbull, and Grim began their assault as soon as they were beamed aboard. Keeping to a tight formation as they maneuvered through the deck they were placed on. Due to the combat between the ships, they could only be placed in close to the device, but not exactly near it. So, they were going to have to deal with anyone they came across as they made their way to its location. With the three of them holding their phaser rifles close, while keeping their eyes and ears sharp, they made their way to the area where the device was linked up and maintained.
As soon as Alex made it through, he took out two of the Lost members that were stationed there. "Secure the door! Nice and tight!" He ordered as he walked over to another closed door. As Grim secured the door by accessing the control panel by it and cutting off the open function, Pitbull and Alex began to clear the room to check if anyone else was hiding there.
"Clear!" Pitbull yelled as he checked one of the far rooms.
"Clear!" Alex shouted after opening the door and checking the room passed it.
"Door Secured!" Grim shouted before turning around. "We won't have any company." She said as she approached the machine. "So... what are we doing with this thing?"
Alex and Pitbull made their way to the device to join Grim as she began to check the display. As she tapped on the console, she notices it was similar to theirs, but the system was primitive. They were definitely looking at a prototype of some kind.
"What do you got, Grim?" Alex said as he looked over to her.
"Definitely looking at a prototype model. Its system looked much older than ours."
Alex looked over to Pitbull before focusing back to Grim. "Check to see if it has the SI signature. Hopefully, this is the one we are looking for and not an experimental model."
"You think they already copied it and started making their own?" Pitbull questioned, looking to Alex with a curious look.
"We won't know till she looks at the data and confirms it." Alex replied. "This thing has been out of Starfleet Intelligence's hands for some time now. There is no telling what they did with it. Other than going back and forth for raids, we don't know for sure how much they got from it before we showed up."
Pitbull let out a sigh before countering. "According to Calypso, they retrieved all the data they had. We should be safe."
"All the data they had on the ship, John." He countered quickly. Alex knew how sensitive their mission was, but because the device was out of their hands for so long, it was a huge window where anything could have been done. Sure, the Calypso grabbed all the data, but there was no telling if that was the only data or if there was a backup not on the ship. There were a lot of things out of their control.
"Hey... Ladies." Grim spoke up, looking between the both of them. "As soon as you two stop bickering like a pair of Academy Cadets, you can hear what I found out. Unless you want to keep at it. I enjoy a nice cat fight."
Alex gave Pitbull a smirk before looking to Grim. "What do you got, Grim?"
"Signature matches. Starfleet Engineering program is original. This is ours." She said with a smile. "So... can we grab it and go?"
"Yeah..." Pitbull replied with a satisfied smile. "Hook up the transport enhancers and-"
"No" Alex interrupted. "We blow it. After we fry its programing so there is nothing left to retrieve. This thing is too dangerous."
Grim looked over to Pitbull with a raised brow, before turning back to Alex. "You sure that's the play? Explosion like this will blow the whole ship. Anyone left onboard will certainly be dead. Last I checked, our Intel doesn't say anything about these Lost Merc's learning how to breath in space."
"Not if we get them off it first." Alex said as he tapped his combadge. "Knight to Pridwen."
=^="Pridwen here. Go ahead, Knight."=^=
"We've reached out target. Proceeding with plan. Before we continue, we need you to transport any Lost members off this ship to the Pridwen cargo bay. You're security can proceed with detaining them as they see fit." Alex said firmly.
The Pridwen Officer looked over to their Captain who immediately gave him the head nod to proceed. =^="Confirm, Commander Knight. Security is enroute to the Cargo Bay to apprehend the Lost we bring aboard. Prepare for transport."=^=
Alex looked to Grim. "Negative, Pridwen. We'll let you know when we require transport. Until then, please advise the Calypso we have the device and it's secure."
The Officer turned back to the Captain, who rose from his seat, before giving him a nod to show his approval. =^="Acknowledged, Knight. We'll await your instructions."=^=
"Open a com channel with the Calypso. Audio only." The Captain said firmly.
"Channel Open, Sir." The Ops officer replied.
The Captain took a soft breath before proceeding to speak. "Calypso, this is Pridwen. We've just received word from Commander Knight and his team that the device is in hand. We're awaiting his instructions for beam out. Do you require assistance?"
"This is Calypso. If you take care of that third ship once you retrieve Commander Knight and his team, we can take care of the other two." Sam glanced over to security for confirmation, then added. "Thank you, captain. Calypso out."
"Damion, target those two ships. Vincent, transfer power to the shields."
Damion couldn't shake the new voice on the com channel with the Pridwen. He knew it sounded familiar, but couldn't play it. While he was thinking, Sam's orders snapped him out of a deep thought, as he focused on the console ahead of him. "Locking phasers and torpedoes on the first two ships." He said as he tapped the console quickly, before hitting the fire button. "Firing!"
"Aye Commodore" Vincent replied, a determined expression as he transferred the power to the shields.
Everyone braced as another volley of phaser fire hit the shields. "Damage report."
Vincent checked the scans of where the volleys hit. "We've got damage on Deck 13 in the Solid Waste Reprocessing Facility 2 and on Deck 22. I am afraid things are going to get a little bit smelly on Deck 13."
====[On Lost Mercenary Ship]====
"Grim, can you rig an ops console from here?" Alex asked, as he looked over to her with a firm look.
Grim replied. "Depends... what do you need me to do with it?"
"If you can crash their shield system, the Pridwen can start beaming over Lost crew members to their Cargo Bay to be detained." Alex said as he started removing a piece of the device. "By the time John and I are finished, the only people left on this ship should be us."
Grim raised a brow as she answered. "I can probably rig something up. If you want something fast and perfect, you should have brought Dutch." She added and slight chuckle before asking. "What the hell are you doing?"
"I'm going to remove the regulator from the devices core. If what Dutch told me about was accurate, that should increase the power and force an overload." Alex said as he began to remove a few more panels, very carefully. Prior to their jump from the other universe, with the Calypso, Alex asked Dutch to give them a rundown of the device’s inner workings. Specifically, when it came to way to disable or destroy it. It was a lot of technical talk that Alex couldn't make heads or tails of, but he remembered the movements and warnings pretty well to have a good idea of how to pull it off. Provided he didn't make a mistake and cause the device to overload too quickly, taking them with it.
"And you know how to do that?" Pitbull asked, a slight nervous look on his face.
"Me? Hell no. Dutch, of course. He spent most of his time, once we got the orders to track this thing down, looking over the design blueprints and technical schematics. He didn't have access to them before, but Max pulled a few strings and convinced who he had to in order to give him access." Alex looked up to Pitbull and smirked. "He wasn't allowed to keep anything, for obvious reasons, but this is Dutch we are talking about. And... we know Dutch."
