Mission: Broken Mirror

[PREVIOUSLY]

"We confirm. The scientist is now on the Calypso and one of our engineers backed up the computer data from the third ship," Sam replied. She knew that voice. Or she thought she did, but it wasn't the same. "Good enough?"

[CONTINUED]

Alex immediately replied. "Commodore, I remind you, that data is considered part of an Intelligence R & D project and needs to be secluded from your standard data. No record of its will be made in the log or back-ups. Once my team is on board, Alora will take possession of the information and ensure it has been completely removed."

"When and if you get here, we will discuss this," Sam said. "Because I have my orders from Admiral Burke. The data will be delivered to both her and Admiral Hunter. They can decide what to do with it."

Then she turned to Damion. "Target the other two ships. Weapons first." That should give them enough time for the Pridwen to take care of the third ship.

"Targeting the first ships weapons array." Damion said firmly as he tapped the console to lock on. When the Calypso was within range, he tapped the console again to fire the weapons. The phasers streamed out and pierced the ships shields, hitting the weapons array. "Weapons array disabled. Locking onto the other ships weapons array." He said as he did the same, waiting for the ship to get within range of the second ship, before letting out another barrage of phaser fire. "Weapons array down on the second ship."

Vincent raised an eyebrow, kept his mouth closed, as he maneuvered the power to the shields, hoping to make certain there wasn't even more damage happening. "Commodore, who are these ships that came to help out?"

"One ship, and he's a friend of Commander Knight, who is the commander of the Prowler, which is our escort to this universe," Sam replied succinctly. "Alex is originally from this universe."

"I see. Thank you, Commodore," Vincent commented, then watched as more phaser fire tore its way through space hitting the third ship. He was keeping a scan upon that other ship, getting readings as to the condition of the ship's shields. It seemed that they were dwindling as each phaser fire hit it.

===[USS Pridwen]===

"Information and Scientist is safe and secure, Commander Knight." The same familiar voice came from the Captain's seat cloaked in shadow due to current red alert status of the ship. As the red lights flashed on, his face was barely visible. "Accord to your debriefing, all that is left is to take care of the technology onboard that ship."

Alex looked over to Alora, an unsure look on his face, before turning to face the Captain of the Pridwen. "Officially, Sir, the decision rests on me. My Commander Officer, Max, say's the technology should be captured or destroyed. It shouldn't exist and this technology was only meant to be for the Prowler. If the Terran Empire were to ever obtain this tech, Admiral Hunter feared an incursion in Federation space. Terran Empire are aware of the other universe's existence and consider it new territory to conquer. If anything, this incident proves how dangerous it is."

The Captain stood up from his chair and slowly placed his hands behind his back. "I hear a lot of good points, Alex, but no clear decision. Secure or Destroy? One or the other. You've been tasked with picking one, not to stand on the line between both. You can't have both." He took a moment to take a deep breath, releasing a calming sigh. He looked around the bridge, at his crew who awaited their next orders, before looking back to Alex. "Your Commanding Officer, Admiral Hunter.... Max charged you with this decision. A decision he knew would be the right one regardless of which way you went. He trusts you to make that call and now..." He held his hands out. "So do my people." He placed his hand on his chest. "So do I. All that's left is for you to make the call. So... make that call and stand by it, Mister Knight. That ship will not remain here for long and this incident will repeat all over again. End this Cat and Mouse game and decide. The longer you take.. the more that fear of the Empire getting that technology is a possibility."

"Alex, the Calypso does have the data from their ship, and the Prowler has the rest," Alora added. "But it is your call."

"Just because they have the data and the scientist, it doesn't mean they have the engine from that ship which allows it to travel back and forth. That is the danger here. That tech, on that ship, is a potential danger and what Max was more concerned about. We can't leave it here." He said firmly before taking a deep breath. Alex took Alora's hands in his and whispered to her. "I need to deal with that technology because, if I don't, Starfleet and the Federation will have a whole new problem on their hands. I love you and your universe too much to let it become a victim to the Terran Empire."

Alora wasn't sure she agreed because she didn't know what was in that data, but she couldn't argue with him.

Alex looked over to the Captain and asked firmly. "Can you lower the shields on that ship and get close enough to transport a party onboard?"

"You know I can. Have you decided on your next more, Commander Knight?" The Captain replied in a serious tone.

"Yes." Alex said as he looked over to Alora. "Stay here. I'm taking Pitbull and Grim to that ship to deal with the engine itself. Let the Calypso know to stand by, but remain alert in case reinforcements show up. I'll need back up if I need a quick exit." He squeezed her hands gently and whispered. "I love you, Wife."

She smiled. "I love you, too. Just...don't die."

Alex smiled back and let go of her hands. His smile soon faded before he looked over to the Pridwen Captain and said firmly. "Let me know when you lower the shields of that ship. I'm taking a team over. We'll transport in as close as we can to their engineering section and deal with the device. Tell your people, and the Calypso, to maintain a lock on us in case we need to get out quick. Either I'll end up on this ship or the Calypso. I'm not going to take any other option other than those two." He began to walk to the turbolift.

"And you won't, Commander Knight. We'll have your back the whole way. There and back." The Captain sat back down at his seat. "God Speed, Mister Knight." As Alex stepped into the turbolift and the doors closed behind him, The Captain looked to Alora and nodded. "We have our orders, Commander. The Comm to the Calypso is yours."

Alora sighed. It would be so much easier to just blow the ship up. She opened another comm channel. "Knight to York."
